Emergency Medical Technician(EMT-B)


The United States Bureau of Labor and Statistics (bls.gov) reports:

"Employment of EMT's and Paramedic's is expected to grow by 33% from 2010-2020, much faster than the average for all other occupations."

We provide Emergency Medical Technician classes on the northwest side of Chicago. Our Classes meet the National Registry Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Standards and is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Individuals that complete this course and all mandatory requirements, will have the opportunity to challenge the Illinois State Exam or the NREMT Exam for EMT-B licensing. 

             First Five offers two classes (limited to 25 students per class).          

                         Tuesdays and Thursdays           Saturdays             

                                    6pm-10:30pm                     9am-5pm.

All classes are about four months in duration and are held at our facility. Attendance is mandatory per Illinois Department of Public Health. Cost of Class is $2,000.00.

Mandatory prerequisites must be completed prior to first day of class.

Mandatory Prerequisites

1. Complete Student Application.

2. 18 years or older.

3. High School Diploma/GED.                                         (copy proof)

4. Must pass Criminal Background/Drug Test.              (Student  Packet)

5. Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR Card.            (We can help)

6. Proof of Medical Insurance.                                       (copy of card)

7. Medical Clearance/Physical Packet Completed.      (Student Packet)

8. Sign Student HIPPA Confidentiality Agreement Form.

9. Must be able to understand/read/write the English Language.
